Community

It’s been difficult to process what happened at Aurora’s Century 16, this past Friday. This one hit home – Aurora is where I live. It is my place of sanctuary. It’s where I feel safe when the world gets too topsy-turvy. It’s where I retreated after the Columbine murders and again after the 9-11 terror attacks. With a military base practically in my backyard, I have felt out of harm’s way. However, since the events of early Friday morning, I have been unsettled. I can only presume it’s because this massacre was in my backyard.

I’m in this area at least once a week – my kids grew up with Century 16, seeing a number of movies on its premises.  I have family who work in the area, and I regularly shop in the affected neighborhood. We knew people who were directly affected by the shooting – both injured and deceased.

Stunned silence.  Sharp intake of breath.  12 innocent lives intersecting at a crossroads with an unsettled individual acting out his own role playing game. When death is expected, it gives you time to prepare. When life is snatched away so cruelly, it’s like pouring acid on an open wound – it’s extremely painful and vicious!

Everyone deals with death and loss in their own way and it is not for me or anyone else to sit in judgment. There is no one size fits all in a circumstance like this.  My prayers go out to all the affected families, as do prayers and well wishes from around the globe. It may seem a small thing, but when we connect as a linked chain back to infinite consciousness, it is an opportunity to do something greater than ourselves. When we join forces, we can energetically ease and lessen the sorrow-filled hearts of the injured and those who have lost loved ones in this thoughtless carnage.

Words are hollow and cannot change or undo what happened, but through our actions in the midst of this extended grieving process, we can and will chart our future course. When the news cycle changes and the cameras and anchor teams fade from view, the people of my adopted hometown will still be here. We will not be okay for quite some time. We will; however, persevere, though nothing will ever be the same.

If you have the ability to do so, please consider visiting to GivingFirst.org and making a donation to help support the victims and families. If you can do nothing else, please take few minutes out of your busy schedule and offer a prayer of healing for the families and the greater Aurora, Colorado, community.

Dream of the Seven Sisters

I found myself walking along a quiet secluded beach. The moon shone brightly wrapped in gauzy clouds.  Water lapped the shoreline and I was alone. As I walked, I noticed something gleaming from among the billions of tiny crystal shards of sand. Stopping to check it out, I knelt down and found seven exquisitely beautiful pearls.  Perfectly round luminous beauties, they glistened in the moonlight like sparkling diamonds.

There was something energetically profound about them. Sitting down, I caressed each one in my hand. The spheres vibrated in my presence, letting me know I was free to pick them up and carry them home.

I wrapped them in a piece of gold silk cloth I found in the pocket of my skirt.  The fabric was long enough to wrap each one securely so they wouldn’t scrape against each other in my pocket. Having secured my treasures, I wistfully looked into the night sky and gave thanks for the unexpected bounty.

Back home, I carefully unwrapped each one, bathing it in a light bath of crystal-infused water to clean away any remaining sandy grit.  At that point, I wasn’t sure what to do with them so I placed them on a clean piece of silk on my altar waiting for inspiration.

For several weeks they remained unmoved, sparkling in the sunlight which dawned each morning and glistening in effervescent hues under the moon’s gaze each evening. For hours at a time, I sat and meditated, lost in time.

Awakening from one of my trances, I realized I had finally gotten clear instructions. The pearls were to be fashioned into jewelry. Each stone was a huge reservoir of ethereal energy, but for me to claim the magick, I had to consciously wear them on my body.

The first one said its name is Courage.  It asked to be placed in a ring to remind me every day that I have the focus and clarity to move forward and accomplish my goals. It reminds me that we are all divine sparks having a physical existence. It is here to accelerate my growth and accomplishments.

The second one named itself Truth. It was placed in a silver cage to wear in a necklace. Touching my throat the only sounds it allows are those of universal love. Opening my mouth to speak, the voice which issues forth is melodic and embellished with the sound of creation energy.

The twins are named Virtue and Compassion. Set in matching silver crescents, they nest on my earlobes. They allow me to hear beauty and remind me to pay attention and listen. Tuned into the spirit world, they amplify the small voices and communicate messages I am charged with delivering from souls that have passed over.

Wisdom was placed in a diadem to wear as a crown upon my brow. Her job is to keep my vibration high and allow me to discard unnecessary noise which clouds ordinary sight. Through Wisdom I am given the gifts of channeling and prophecy.

The final two are indeed another twin pair, Gratitude and Forgiveness. Like Wonder Woman’s bracelets they embedded themselves into a matching pair of silver cuffs. They remind me to be purposeful in my actions and to remember to give thanks for the showers of abundance which surround me.

The seven sisters came to Earth to enrich my life. Their gifts are what I share with the world.

Stay True to You

Sometimes the hardest lesson is learning to stay true to yourself.
Walking the path to clarity and consciousness requires periodically evaluating everything and everyone in your life.
Most of your past is composed of people and things which you associate with great value – you fell in love for a reason and you bought that swell little black dress ‘cause you just knew you’d look so good in it.
People change and so do our life desires. Maybe you’re no longer in love but hanging onto the idea of being in love (for all the wrong reasons). Perhaps you never wore the dress and now it sits unused and abandoned on a hanger in the back of your closet. If the magick’s gone, it’s time to let go and move on.
Just because you’re deciding to end a relationship, concluding a business commitment, or clearing out stuff from your closets doesn’t mean “good riddance” – you’re not getting “rid” of anything. Instead you’re opening a new page in your life and passing along “magick” to others who might benefit from those items or relationships in the future.
The best time to do this is when you have the chance to sit quietly in meditation or contemplation. Put one hand on your heart and the other on your belly. Breathe in deeply and exhale forcefully a few times to clear your mind and then begin asking whether or not a particular person or item serves your highest and best purpose. In the stillness, you should easily receive your answer.
When you get your answers, you have to be willing to release the outcome. To take the next steps on moving forward, read my Journey to Forgiveness  blog post.
There are hard choices to be made and your heart will weep as you discard that which no longer serves your highest and best purpose. Remember, there’s nothing which is truly good or bad, rather there are only choices to be aligned with principles – Self Love being the most important.
You will open yourself to more fully enjoying and participating in life. No more blame. No more unnecessary stress. The result of this fine-tuning will be enhanced creativity and the ability to be more consciously present in the pursuit your life goals.
New Affirmation:  I AM ALIGNING MY LIFE WITH MY HIGHEST AND BEST PURPOSE!
Remember, every day you have a new opportunity to live your BEST life,

Journey to Forgiveness

At some time or another, we all have to let go of the ties that bind us to the past. There are cuts and scrapes, indignities and all kind of physical and emotional wounds that we cause one another. All the hurts, resentments, anger, open wounds which never seem to heal have to be let go.
We’re all guilty at one time or another of inflicting pain on other, but this isn’t about judgment or blame. It’s about conscious reality and knowing this is a low vibration energy which doesn’t serve a higher purpose. In order to let them go – permanently, means you have to be willing to forgive. Those emotional echoes have been eating you up from the inside for a long time and no good can come from them.
I want to introduce you to a practice which will allow you to peacefully and purposefully release those hurts. It’s time to say your goodbyes and let them recede into the energy vortex of the universal consciousness so the “thought forms” can be cleansed and repurposed. So what is forgiveness?
·         It’s a process of conscious release so we can rid ourselves of the emotions from events and situations which no longer serve us.
·         Allowing you to have healthy emotional detachment from formerly painful triggers.
·         Changing your attitude and finding inner peace and strength.
·         More importantly, forgiveness is a healing for YOU!
Forgiveness is not:
·         About playing the victim card.
·         Pretending or ignoring the circumstances which brought you to the emotional abyss. Rather, you retain the knowledge and wisdom of lessons learned while releasing the ghosts.
·         Harboring resentment.
We all have something we need to let go of – judgments, slights of others, unkind words. No matter, the first person we need to forgive is ourselves. Why? In spite of our best efforts, we self-inflict a lot of pain and emotional abuse upon ourselves due to our failure to attain our hoped-for dreams and aspirations. Get rid of the guilt and let it go. It’s not too late to live the life you truly want. Each morning, you are given another 1440 minutes (24 hours x 60 minutes) to accomplish miracles. In a week, you are presented with another 10,080 opportunities to make things happen!
This is a time for you to self-reflect on all the angst and anxiety you’ve been holding in your body and gently release it. Sit quietly with your feet firmly on the floor and slowly relax your body. Starting from the top of your head, ask each part of your body to release any judgments, anger, hostility, etc. it is holding. Feel the shift in your physical body as this energy begins to slide down and melt away beneath your feet. Once you have released, start filling your body up with the emotion of love. Give yourself a hug. Visualize a mental image of you hugging yourself. Give yourself some positive messages:
·         I FORGIVE MYSELF.
·         I LOVE MYSELF.
·         I FORGIVE ANY AND ALL WHO HAVE CAUSED ME PAIN OR GRIEF. I LOVE YOU.
·         I AM A BEING OF LIGHT AND I AM LOVED.
·         I AM PART OF THE CREATOR’S DIVINE ENERGIES AND I AM LOVED.
Sit for as long as necessary and cry whatever tears you need to. This is important. Relish the feeling of tranquility and emotional release. When you are finished, take some time to be good to yourself. Maybe it’s a bubble bath, or a nice glass of wine. If you’re into chocolate like I am, get something good and decadent. Take care of yourself and keep piling on the hugs.
After a day or two, you’ll be ready to take the next step. Set out some quiet time when you can write out a list of all the people and situations in your life to whom you would like to apologize. Your list may be quite lengthy – if you’re being honest your list is probably several pages long!
Once you’ve made your list go through and jot a quick note about the situation – no more than two or three words are necessary. This isn’t about getting stuck in the emotions – it’s about acknowledgment and release. When you’ve completed this task, settle yourself and come back to a calm and neutral state. You don’t have to do your entire list at one time – break it down into bite-size pieces over several days so you don’t get overwhelmed.
Closing your eyes, take a few deep breaths and visualize yourself in a blue room with walls stretching as far as you can see. There is no ceiling and there is no floor, but this is sacred, protected space. You are alone, but as you get comfortable, ask for each person in turn to come and visit you.
With your mind, speak to their higher self and explain why you have asked them to join you. If you are having trouble speaking, ask your spirit guides to help you communicate. Acknowledge what you have done to contribute to the unpleasantness of the situation and then politely ask for their forgiveness.
When you are finished, take some more calming deep breaths and open your eyes. You should experience calmness and probably more healing tears.
Nothing in life that is worthwhile is easy. As a result of this exercise, I no longer carry around unnecessary baggage.  It takes courage and compassion to step into the waters of forgiveness, but if you are ready, it’s definitely a journey worth taking.
New affirmation: I FORGIVE.

Always expect the best outcome! Love and light,
