Visualize This...

If you’re a free thinker who likes to use your imagination, today’s post was written with you in mind!

People who meditate regularly are more easily able enter the alpha brainwave state, where your mind is open and receptive to infinite, unrealized potential. Think about it – when you go to bed every night, just before you fall off to sleep, your brain goes through the alpha state and you become relaxed and dreamy. It’s also good for reducing blood pressure and maintaining a healthy immune system.

Visualization, which is the subject of this post, is an easy way to communicate with your higher, subconscious self and/or your spirit guides. If you’re serious about starting or maintaining a good spiritual practice, set aside time – it’s well worth it! If you’re like me, with a busy career, or lots of business and family commitments, meditation is a great way to unwind and let go of the tension that builds up in your body during the day.

Starting out, there are a few things you should know about preparing for meditation. Following these guidelines will help you to have satisfying and enriching experiences:
  • Find a place where you won’t be disturbed for at least 20 minutes. Put a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door knob and close the door;
  • Turn off any appliances – excess lights, phones, radios or stereo – they can disrupt the energy flow in the area where you’re working;
  • Dim the lights – eliminating unnecessary lighting will help you shut out external influences and calm your mind;
  • Wear comfortable clothing – constricting items will interfere with your ability to relax.
  • Don’t have any expectations about the outcome. There is no right or wrong when it comes to meditation – every experience is individual.
  •  Let things happen. Inner peace becomes possible when we release control and allow the universe to present us with opportunities.
  •  Read all the steps before you get started so you’ll know what to do.  Have paper and pen available as part of this exercise.  Before you begin, take a minute to clear your thoughts and set the intention to be open for a wonderful experience.
Now that it’s time to get started on your visioning meditation. You don’t need to focus on anything other than the task at hand. If you’ve never meditated before there is nothing to be concerned about. If you’ve been away from meditation for awhile, this will be like rediscovering an old friend.

Meditation is a journey of self-discovery. Don’t worry about taking notes. Visioning is an internal, organic process which allows you to hear, feel and see what your eyes would otherwise dismiss. Your imagination provides you with tools to imagine the impossible.

A lot of people are interested in contacting their spirit guides or angels and are unsure as to how to go about it. This exercise is designed to let your imagination step in and help the process along.
Think back to when you were young – maybe you had an imaginary friend, saw ghosts or had premonitions. At the time, your gifts probably weren’t encouraged and you suppressed them. Now, years later you’re at a point in your life when you want to rediscover those long-hidden talents and how to reconnect with the universal mind.

This exercise is going to help you loosen those barriers and allow your imagination to re-train your mind. When we use visions, or creative visualization, we’re allowing our imagination to provide symbols for important messages in our lives.

Now, let’s take a few deep breaths, and inhale all the way down to your belly. Let go of any tension or stress, so you can become relaxed and centered. Exhale and force the bad air out with a "whoosh" sound. Do this several times to center yourself.

Step 1: The Pursuit of Color. Sitting calmly, let your mind find a color – the first one that comes to mind. Don’t worry about what color it is or whether it’s your favorite color. See the color as vibrantly as you can. Note the shade and/or intensity of the color and write it down. If you can’t “see” the color, what color do you “feel” or “think”. No matter how it comes, let it come into your consciousness and come alive.

Spend the next several minutes jotting down whatever information you get about your color. Here are some ideas to get you started:
  • Is it light or dark?
  • What emotion did you feel with the color?
  • Does the color have a scent or a smell?
Step Two: Hard Target.  Now that you have your color in mind, picture the color becoming an object. Remember, the goal is to collect the first thing that pops into your mind:
  • What is your object?
  • Is it something you already know or is it new to you?
  •  Describe the object in as much detail as possible and keep the visualization clearly in your mind for the next step.
Step Three: Look Around. At this point, step back from the object you are visualizing and add context to the scene. Look at it as if you’ve just taken a picture and you’re now viewing it in a picture frame:
  • What is going on in the picture?
  • What is the relationship of your object to the picture you’ve created?
  • What emotions do you experience when you view your picture?
Step Four: Put Yourself in the Picture. Step into the picture you’ve created and take in everything that's going on. Check out your surroundings. Soak up all the information you can:
  • Where are you?
  • Is this somewhere familiar or entirely new to you?
  • What’s going on in this scene?
  • Who else is there with you? (This could be a person, animal, a shape or maybe just a presence.)
Step Five: What’s Happening? Ask your guest(s) why they came. Pay attention to any thoughts, impressions or other clues which pop into your mind. Listen for your message(s) and feel free to ask questions if you need more information or clarification.
  • Do they have a name?
  • What are you talking about?
  • Are you given any special message(s)?
When you’ve gathered all the information you’re able, it’s time to thank your guest(s) and say your goodbyes.  It is important to be thankful for the guidance of divine wisdom and appreciate the gifts you have been offered. Soak up the scene and take in as much information as you can so you can write it down in your notes. When you’re ready, close your eyes for a few minutes and savor what you have just experience.

When you decide you are ready, go ahead and open your eyes and finish journaling about your meditation experience. Remember, these are your notes.  There is no right and there is no wrong. Each meditation is a personal, intimate one and they cannot be compared. The messages you received are for you.

I would love to hear about your experience and get some feedback, so feel free to send me an email (IntuitiveGoddesse@gmail.com).

New Affirmation:  I AM OPEN TO RECEIVING LOVE AND LIGHT!
Remember; be open to experiencing joy and peace in your life,

Mirror, Mirror...

I was looking at a news article recently on the series of photos by Annie Liebovitz. What caught my attention was the actress Olivia Wilde as the Evil Queen from Disney’s Snow White from the “Mirror, Mirror” scene. This photo set my imagination on fire and got me to thinking about how difficult it is for most of us to look in the mirror and expect to see beauty reflected back.

How many times over the years have you looked in the mirror and been afraid of the person who’s looking back?  Be honest – it’s happened to all of us at least once in our adult lives. I know what you’re thinking:
  • This isn’t who I thought I was…
  • OMG, do I really look like that?
  • How did I get to this point... ughhh!
Maybe you’ve only briefly glanced – afraid you wouldn’t recognize the person looking back.  Whatever the rationale, stop and consider this is the person you are right here, right now in this moment.  There are a lot of life lessons to be learned from getting to know “you” and usually, it’s where you’ll find the answers to your deepest, darkest secret questions and the strength you didn’t even know you have.

This is one of the first exercises I always ask my clients to do.  Spend some time in front of a mirror. This would be especially good to do before you put on any makeup, or at the end of the day when you’re removing it for the night.  Don’t waste your time focusing on the wrinkles, sun spots, or any other real or imagined signs of aging. Your purpose is to see beyond what your eyes usually reveal. On a day-to-day basis, we see what we want to see and hear what we want to hear – it’s all about choices.

Make the choice to see your authentic beauty and gaze deep into the eyes of your soul self – go beyond the rational and start connecting on the spiritual level with the true person behind the visual façade.  The first thing I want you to say (out loud) is “I Love You!” It will sound forced and your voice may quiver, but you need to do this over and over again until you are comfortable and enthusiastic.

Your soul self is crying out to hear how much you love it and it’s time for you to make a commitment to loving and cherishing the body you are living in.

If you’re like me, you’ll probably cry the first time you do it. You’ll cry because you’ve never told yourself how much you are loved. Remember, before you can love others, you have to be able to love yourself. Withholding affection is akin to a mother withholding sustenance and nurture from her child. Your mirror self is your inner child – don’t be afraid. Saying “I Love You” is a very powerful and healing declaration to you!

It’s a means of releasing critical thoughts and feelings and allowing unconditional acceptance of who you are right now. Who you want to be will come later, but right now, you need to spend some time getting to know yourself and how wonderful you are – right now!

New Affirmation:  I ACCEPT MYSELF FULLY AND COMPLETELY!
Remember, be AUTHENTICALLY who you are and live your BEST life,

Stay True to You

Sometimes the hardest lesson is learning to stay true to yourself.
Walking the path to clarity and consciousness requires periodically evaluating everything and everyone in your life.
Most of your past is composed of people and things which you associate with great value – you fell in love for a reason and you bought that swell little black dress ‘cause you just knew you’d look so good in it.
People change and so do our life desires. Maybe you’re no longer in love but hanging onto the idea of being in love (for all the wrong reasons). Perhaps you never wore the dress and now it sits unused and abandoned on a hanger in the back of your closet. If the magick’s gone, it’s time to let go and move on.
Just because you’re deciding to end a relationship, concluding a business commitment, or clearing out stuff from your closets doesn’t mean “good riddance” – you’re not getting “rid” of anything. Instead you’re opening a new page in your life and passing along “magick” to others who might benefit from those items or relationships in the future.
The best time to do this is when you have the chance to sit quietly in meditation or contemplation. Put one hand on your heart and the other on your belly. Breathe in deeply and exhale forcefully a few times to clear your mind and then begin asking whether or not a particular person or item serves your highest and best purpose. In the stillness, you should easily receive your answer.
When you get your answers, you have to be willing to release the outcome. To take the next steps on moving forward, read my Journey to Forgiveness  blog post.
There are hard choices to be made and your heart will weep as you discard that which no longer serves your highest and best purpose. Remember, there’s nothing which is truly good or bad, rather there are only choices to be aligned with principles – Self Love being the most important.
You will open yourself to more fully enjoying and participating in life. No more blame. No more unnecessary stress. The result of this fine-tuning will be enhanced creativity and the ability to be more consciously present in the pursuit your life goals.
New Affirmation:  I AM ALIGNING MY LIFE WITH MY HIGHEST AND BEST PURPOSE!
Remember, every day you have a new opportunity to live your BEST life,

Red Carpet Ready

Been thinking about all the awards shows and how people in the US thrive on watching and participating in the comings and goings of some notables and some not so notable persons in our culture.
Imagine what a psyche boost it would be if you got to wear some of those fascinating gowns and attend some of the chi-chi parties. On top of the world, at the pinnacle of your career, how fascinating it would be to be so recognized and applauded by your peers and the general public. So, after giving it some thought, I hope you will put aside your rational mind and do this little visualization with me.
Every time you walk out the door, visualize yourself strutting down a red carpet somewhere. Let your imagination go wild and see yourself attending some wonderful opening night party. Flex those creative muscles and give them a workout. Put your own stamp on it, complete with all the bells and whistles - it's your visualization so you get to decide what it looks like.
My vision has me exiting a limo, suddenly surrounded by a thousand flashes of light. I’m wearing the most fab designer gown, a pair of those sky-high Louboutin heels and lots of bling of course!  Back in Texas, that’s what they mean when they say “GO BIG or go home”.
Sometimes you’ve got to believe your own press and just get out there and BE REAL, AUTHENTIC and let your light shine.
You don’t have to be a Hollywood celebrity to strut your stuff. It’s about having the confidence to hold your head high and stand apart from the crowd. Even if you’re not feeling it, take a note from the red carpet photos plastered all over magazines, the internet and cable. How many times have you seen a picture of someone – the next BIG STAR – only you’ve never seen this person or for that matter, heard much of anything about them.
For today, in this moment, I’m asking you to step up and BECOME THE CELEBRITY – the most important person in the Universe. Let the world know you’re ready to step up and be seen! This is where you truly get the focus on you.  When you are truly being AUTHENTIC, you attract others to you who want to be part of your orbit.
Whether it’s an air of mystery or just an incredible attitude, if you are being authentic in everything you say and do – thought must be followed by action – people will react positively to the confident energy you exude.
New Affirmation:  I AM CONFIDENT, FEARLESS AND AWARE!
Remember, every day brings new chances to be recognized and rewarded,

Are You Ready for "Aha" with Epiphany?

Epiphany comes to visit in strange ways. She never announces when she’s coming to visit, so it’s not like you get a chance to prepare beforehand.
At times, she quietly drops by bringing with her some of the greatest opportunities we will ever be blessed to experience. In those moments, she’s Auntie Mame – a larger than life caricature, immaculately coifed, well turned out and connected. Like a whirlwind, she’s opening doors and making introductions. She’ll ask if you’re ready to go with her, but she’s not one to dilly-dally. Barely waiting for your response, she’ll grab your hand and take off at breakneck speed. Breathing in her intoxicating exquisite perfume, you’ll find yourself on top of the world, ready to follow her anywhere and experiencing some of the most wonderful things to behold.
Coming back down to Earth, you’ll pinch yourself just to make sure it’s not a dream. Rule number one – it’s all real. When the doorbell rings; answer it. If you wait or hesitate, she’ll surely find someone else who wants to make the trip. Success is taking hold and you are moving to a new transformational level. Embrace and enjoy the ride.
On other occasions, her sudden appearance will cause you to drop onto your knees in total surrender, reverence, adoration and awe. It’s during those times Epiphany sweeps in as an unexpected house guest, opening your private closets and drawers and exposing your frayed knickers for the world to see. Looking like she just stepped out of bed and didn’t have time to apply makeup, everything appears out of focus and you sometimes feel short of breath with anxiety rising in your chest.
Rule number two – don’t panic. This obviously isn’t the time to let pride or humility get in the way.  In those moments, it’s sometimes easy to curse her for the unexpected imposition as you open the door, but I’ve learned just to take in a deep breath, blow it out and wait for comprehension and understanding to take hold. Then, remembering my manners, I greet her and graciously welcome her in. You’re not going to be good at it the first few times – it takes plenty of practice. What I can tell you is while you’re going through your transformational journey and shifting your entire belief system, you’ll get plenty of chances to practice.
Even so, Epiphany kind of grows on you. I’ve come to love her rambunctiousness, her fearlessness and her ability to stand up in the face of whatever she’s presented with. I admire her willingness to let the winds carry her where they may. I’m grateful for the fact she even knows my name, so when she shows up I’m throwing open the doors!
You never know where or when lightning’s going to strike, so my advice to you is to be ready. Rule number three – be ready. Opportunity seldom knocks twice. If you’re serious about making transformational change in your life, remember what your mother used to say, “Make sure you’ve cleaned up and got on some good underwear – you never know who’s going to see them.”  That is the reality of the situation – if you’re asking for the Universe for something, you don’t know how or when it’s going to show up so you better be ready.
New Affirmation:  I WELCOME AND EMBRACE MY “AHA” MOMENTS.
Remember, Love and Light will always help you embrace your best outcome!

Receiving LOVE

I LOVE my life!

On this Valentine’s Day, I’m spending a few minutes thinking about how much LOVE has transformed my life. I’m not talking about the kind that comes with chocolates, flowers and wine – although I love each of those and won’t pass up any opportunity to be on the receiving end of any gifting.
In our household, there doesn’t have to be a special day to celebrate the spirit of Valentine’s Day.  I am blessed to have a family who, in spite of various quirks and peculiarities, is very loving and supportive of my dreams and passions. I am blessed and appreciative when I receive their hand-made cards, the home-cooked meals, kind words and butterfly kisses just because.
Looking back, there was a time when I was the proverbial wallflower. I prided myself on the ability to be available to others and showered them with love, gifts and kindness at every opportunity. Believing it was better to give than to receive, I closed myself off, refusing most gifts and kindness directed to me. I didn’t realize how selfish and inappropriate this was because I had to be in control – all the time – no matter the situation. If someone did something nice for me, it meant that something was owed in return and I loathed having that responsibility.
I insulated myself so others wouldn’t be able to see my vulnerabilities. I pretended to be shy and aloof, when in fact; I craved the companionship and joviality of others. In other words, what you give is what you receive. I got plenty of comments and snide remarks from others who saw me as cold and unapproachable – not at all the vibe I “thought” I was giving out.  I can’t tell you how many tears I have cried lamenting my inability to be gracious and accepting.
I remained fearful and closeted for many years because I was unwilling to trust the Divine nature of this experience. It didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen. Surrendering complete and absolute control over my life, I found I was suddenly and overwhelmingly blessed with so many acts of pure loving generosity. Opening to the fullness of living Authentically, I find myself continually rewarded and surprised by the many blessings which have transformed my life.
I no longer cling to the fringes and now welcome the chance to interact spontaneously with my surroundings. I no longer hide who and what I am – instead I choose to live openly as a conduit to the Divine and surround myself with like-minded individuals who have also chosen to reach out and connect. This interconnectedness helps each of us to reach ever-dazzling heights.
My life is no longer black and white, with shades of gray. I’m living it in full-color, surrounded by love. I let go of FEAR as an everyday companion and replaced it instead with a sense of PURPOSE and an overwhelming desire to be a part of that which I once shunned. I am fully supported and buoyed by LOVE all around me, all the time.
The garden of my heart is beautiful, with flowers of all shapes, colors and scents. Their intoxicating beauty reminds me of what I am here to do – to serve in LOVE. Yes, occasionally, there is a stray weed which catches my attention.  Before surrendering it to Mother Earth, I gently pluck it out, thank it for the lesson it has opened my eyes to and then allow it to be transformed and its energies dispersed along the high winds.
With age comes a measure of wisdom. I accept who I am and understand I will continue to grow and change throughout the seasons of my life.  My beautiful heart center is now fully open and remains vibrant because I consciously emit what it is I want to attract – beautiful souls and pleasant energies.  I know and recognize the shared compassion and LOVE that radiates from saying the simple words “thank you”.  I welcome gifts my family and friends choose to share with me on this day. Most importantly, I appreciate the chance to experience the LOVE they are gifting from their hearts.
New Affirmation:  I AM SURROUNDED BY LOVE AND I GROW IN ITS WARMTH.
Remember, it’s always about LOVE!

Phoenix Rising

A Goddesse reborn over and over again, sacred Phoenix can help you remember your passion and clear your path of obstacles. I hope after reading this you will allow your dreams to be reborn and come alive in the cosmic nursery!

Phoenix Rising - It is deep night and Phoenix alights on a star cluster twinkling out of the void. She comes here as avatar every night to the space between worlds when her human form sleeps. Preening her feathers, her divine spark ignites anew, illuminating her spirit body as it is propelled forward into the cosmic night.
Soaring amidst star systems, she enters galaxies new and old. She gracefully spirals and pirouettes through star nurseries and around planetary debris. Like a corsair, she rises higher and higher on the thermals in this vastness, cleansing the darkness with her white-hot, scorching heat.
Her passion and self-awareness is as strong as the blistering warmth barely contained in her breast. Her ferocious, luminous beauty ignites a fiery swath through the night skies. She is a force to be reckoned with, as evidenced by her imperious nature in the cosmic environment.
The dawning of a new day signals retreat. She surrenders her unspent energies in a magnificent burst signaling the end of her epoch. Bright energies diminish and the last bit of heat drifts away with the whispers of dawn. Her spirit body immolates as a sacrifice to the new day. Nothing remains as her withered shell returns to dust blown away carelessly by approaching solar winds.  Her soul spark merges back into the human body she shares where she will rest and slumber until summoned again to action.

In our waking lives it is inevitable that we have times where we may be paralyzed by fear, helplessness and/or procrastination. However, when we dream, there is freedom to explore the hidden messages, set intention to free ourselves from the obstacles (real or imagined) and do deep work on healing our higher selves.

Set your intention tonight before drifting off to sleep, and ask Phoenix to help you re-birth hidden passions and discover the freedom which awaits when you are truly living an Authentic life. It is time to cast off all those thoughts and feelings which do not serve your highest and best purpose. Bring light into those dark places in your psyche and open yourself up to the unlimited potential you gain with awakening each morning.

Spend time taking flight with Phoenix and realize you can consciously create your desires as well as consciously shifting your beliefs to get rid of anything which is an obstacle in your waking life.

New affirmation: I ALLOW THE BLAZING LIGHT OF SPIRIT TO CLEANSE THE DARK PLACES IN MY SOUL AND REBIRTH MY LIFE.

May Phoenix guide you to find the passion to live Authentically in your life,

Cheryl

A Light in the Darkness

This blog entry is a channeled message which I have been asked to share. I am honored to do so and welcome your comments.

To my Sisters,

Out of the darkness came the light. At first, it was just a glimmer as the Divine Consciousness began to take form as thought. From the dark expanse at the brink of the infinite horizons, Awakening began. The Divine Consciousness sparkled down from the luminous moonlight, raining essence over Gaia. Not knowing they were part of something greater, the shimmers of light continued to coalesce and evolve independent of one another.

In our past, there have been many sparks that flamed with great brilliance. However, since mankind wasn’t yet ready to resolve our humanity with our divinity, those sparks reluctantly gave up their birthright to live in ignorance, receding into the dimensional realms, like phoenix awaiting rebirth.

And one day, as if on cue, the Divine Consciousness reached out and illuminated all the sparkles together so we would know we were not alone. Caressed by the soft glow of moonlight, we began to recognize one another and the Divine Feminine became aware.

We, the women who walk the path, are part of the Divine Feminine who was birthed into life at that time. We have been called from all creeds, races and ethnicities to join forces to defeat the darkness and give rise to the light of Transcendence. We have been initiated into the mysteries of life and death, shedding our past karma and accepting initiation into our healing gifts.

Setting aside differences, we reach out across space and time to embrace and help our sleeping Sisters to awaken and heed the call. Called to question and quest, we release ourselves from bondage.
Teachings have been visited upon us in many ways. We have been guided by the pearls of the night sky in slumber and meditation to arouse our higher selves. The light of the blazing sun eradicates the darkness within. Sounds of creation echo throughout our physical vessels, preparing our bodies for evolution. Star People regularly visit the transit between worlds to teach the lineages of our ancestors and help us remember.

Ascended Masters, Angels, bodhisattvas and other benevolent beings touch our hearts, sensitizing our bodies to the fragile environment, as well as the suffering of Gaia and her children. We have been given grace, compassion and LOVE to help fulfill our joined destiny. We have risen from deep slumber to embrace both halves of creation – the physical and the divine – as interconnected transcendent entities.

We are not approaching the end of time—rather, we are gathering in preparation for the shift to a new state of being – an age of spiritual evolution and enlightenment.

Nurturers, life bringers, healers and teachers, we are chosen. As Spiritual beings, we take our places as activists, guardians, and elementals to guide, protect, serve and facilitate the healing of those whom we meet along the interconnecting pathways. For some, this has been a remarkable awakening. Others have endured tremendous sacrifice to respond. No matter, we are now together as one people, holding one another aloft in the light. We are Goddesse.

New affirmation: I FULLY AWAKEN TO MY POWERS AND GIFTS.
May your light shine brightly illuminating the darkness for others.

Mandala Meditation

I love mandala.
Originally designed as microcosms of the universe in sacred and ritual customs of the Hindu and Buddhist religions, they are now viewed as powerful self-healing generators in metaphysical traditions. Today, you can design mandala from many materials, in different ways, all with the view of providing a point of focus for working on and healing the spiritual aspect of self.
Meditating on a mandala can help you discover your strengths, as well as your weaknesses and assist in safely divining a path to work through obstacles and roadblocks for self-healing and growth. I use them for meditation and to help me move outside the boundaries of time and space – especially when I’m working on a new project and I am needing inspiration.
So, how does one go about finding a mandala for self-healing? You can either use locate on that’s already been designed (such as the one at the top of this article); or if you’re looking to do some deeper work, you can create your own. All that’s needed is your imagination and some creative tools – paint, pen, pencils, crayons, paper, and collage materials – use whatever you’ve got on hand. Although the original sacred versions mimic the structure of the Universe, a mandala for self-healing doesn’t have to be any particular shape, size or color.
Use your imagination and let your creativity flow. Come out and play. Design it with the innocence and delight of a child. No rules. No structure, boundaries or specific purpose. Let your spiritual child-self decide what needs to be incorporated into the design. When complete, the finished artwork should resonate with you and then you can begin using it as a focus for meditation and/or quiet contemplation.
With that in mind, find a quiet place where you will not disturbed for approximately 15 minutes. Make sure you have a journal or notebook and something to write with before you get started.
All you need to begin is to start taking in several deep breaths, clearing your mind of extraneous thoughts in the process.  You only want to think about the mandala itself and what it is revealing to you. Let go of all your cares, worries and concerns as you look deeply into the mandala and focus your concentration on exploring the realms, both seen and unseen, in the picture.
Continue looking at the mandala until your eyes begin to close. At this point, you should be able to visualize the mandala in your mind’s eye. Allow the picture to present information to you. Don’t try to comprehend what you are seeing or being told, just continue mentally focusing on absorbing the information which is being revealed.
Until you get the hang of it and are able to keep gazing for a prolonged period, 5 to 10 minutes is sufficient.  Once you open your eyes, take a few minutes to jot down some notes about the information you received. The information may not immediately make sense, but if you include mandala meditation a regular on-going part of your daily routine, you will have a deeper understanding and be better prepared to integrate the information in order to make positive and life affirming changes.
Contact IntuitiveGoddesse (click here) if you’d like more information on how to use mandala meditation as a spiritual retreat.
New affirmation: I AM WHOLE AND HEALED.
Always expect the best outcome! Love and light,

Cheryl
