Red Carpet Ready

Been thinking about all the awards shows and how people in the US thrive on watching and participating in the comings and goings of some notables and some not so notable persons in our culture.
Imagine what a psyche boost it would be if you got to wear some of those fascinating gowns and attend some of the chi-chi parties. On top of the world, at the pinnacle of your career, how fascinating it would be to be so recognized and applauded by your peers and the general public. So, after giving it some thought, I hope you will put aside your rational mind and do this little visualization with me.
Every time you walk out the door, visualize yourself strutting down a red carpet somewhere. Let your imagination go wild and see yourself attending some wonderful opening night party. Flex those creative muscles and give them a workout. Put your own stamp on it, complete with all the bells and whistles - it's your visualization so you get to decide what it looks like.
My vision has me exiting a limo, suddenly surrounded by a thousand flashes of light. I’m wearing the most fab designer gown, a pair of those sky-high Louboutin heels and lots of bling of course!  Back in Texas, that’s what they mean when they say “GO BIG or go home”.
Sometimes you’ve got to believe your own press and just get out there and BE REAL, AUTHENTIC and let your light shine.
You don’t have to be a Hollywood celebrity to strut your stuff. It’s about having the confidence to hold your head high and stand apart from the crowd. Even if you’re not feeling it, take a note from the red carpet photos plastered all over magazines, the internet and cable. How many times have you seen a picture of someone – the next BIG STAR – only you’ve never seen this person or for that matter, heard much of anything about them.
For today, in this moment, I’m asking you to step up and BECOME THE CELEBRITY – the most important person in the Universe. Let the world know you’re ready to step up and be seen! This is where you truly get the focus on you.  When you are truly being AUTHENTIC, you attract others to you who want to be part of your orbit.
Whether it’s an air of mystery or just an incredible attitude, if you are being authentic in everything you say and do – thought must be followed by action – people will react positively to the confident energy you exude.
New Affirmation:  I AM CONFIDENT, FEARLESS AND AWARE!
Remember, every day brings new chances to be recognized and rewarded,

Are You Ready for "Aha" with Epiphany?

Epiphany comes to visit in strange ways. She never announces when she’s coming to visit, so it’s not like you get a chance to prepare beforehand.
At times, she quietly drops by bringing with her some of the greatest opportunities we will ever be blessed to experience. In those moments, she’s Auntie Mame – a larger than life caricature, immaculately coifed, well turned out and connected. Like a whirlwind, she’s opening doors and making introductions. She’ll ask if you’re ready to go with her, but she’s not one to dilly-dally. Barely waiting for your response, she’ll grab your hand and take off at breakneck speed. Breathing in her intoxicating exquisite perfume, you’ll find yourself on top of the world, ready to follow her anywhere and experiencing some of the most wonderful things to behold.
Coming back down to Earth, you’ll pinch yourself just to make sure it’s not a dream. Rule number one – it’s all real. When the doorbell rings; answer it. If you wait or hesitate, she’ll surely find someone else who wants to make the trip. Success is taking hold and you are moving to a new transformational level. Embrace and enjoy the ride.
On other occasions, her sudden appearance will cause you to drop onto your knees in total surrender, reverence, adoration and awe. It’s during those times Epiphany sweeps in as an unexpected house guest, opening your private closets and drawers and exposing your frayed knickers for the world to see. Looking like she just stepped out of bed and didn’t have time to apply makeup, everything appears out of focus and you sometimes feel short of breath with anxiety rising in your chest.
Rule number two – don’t panic. This obviously isn’t the time to let pride or humility get in the way.  In those moments, it’s sometimes easy to curse her for the unexpected imposition as you open the door, but I’ve learned just to take in a deep breath, blow it out and wait for comprehension and understanding to take hold. Then, remembering my manners, I greet her and graciously welcome her in. You’re not going to be good at it the first few times – it takes plenty of practice. What I can tell you is while you’re going through your transformational journey and shifting your entire belief system, you’ll get plenty of chances to practice.
Even so, Epiphany kind of grows on you. I’ve come to love her rambunctiousness, her fearlessness and her ability to stand up in the face of whatever she’s presented with. I admire her willingness to let the winds carry her where they may. I’m grateful for the fact she even knows my name, so when she shows up I’m throwing open the doors!
You never know where or when lightning’s going to strike, so my advice to you is to be ready. Rule number three – be ready. Opportunity seldom knocks twice. If you’re serious about making transformational change in your life, remember what your mother used to say, “Make sure you’ve cleaned up and got on some good underwear – you never know who’s going to see them.”  That is the reality of the situation – if you’re asking for the Universe for something, you don’t know how or when it’s going to show up so you better be ready.
New Affirmation:  I WELCOME AND EMBRACE MY “AHA” MOMENTS.
Remember, Love and Light will always help you embrace your best outcome!

Receiving LOVE

I LOVE my life!

On this Valentine’s Day, I’m spending a few minutes thinking about how much LOVE has transformed my life. I’m not talking about the kind that comes with chocolates, flowers and wine – although I love each of those and won’t pass up any opportunity to be on the receiving end of any gifting.
In our household, there doesn’t have to be a special day to celebrate the spirit of Valentine’s Day.  I am blessed to have a family who, in spite of various quirks and peculiarities, is very loving and supportive of my dreams and passions. I am blessed and appreciative when I receive their hand-made cards, the home-cooked meals, kind words and butterfly kisses just because.
Looking back, there was a time when I was the proverbial wallflower. I prided myself on the ability to be available to others and showered them with love, gifts and kindness at every opportunity. Believing it was better to give than to receive, I closed myself off, refusing most gifts and kindness directed to me. I didn’t realize how selfish and inappropriate this was because I had to be in control – all the time – no matter the situation. If someone did something nice for me, it meant that something was owed in return and I loathed having that responsibility.
I insulated myself so others wouldn’t be able to see my vulnerabilities. I pretended to be shy and aloof, when in fact; I craved the companionship and joviality of others. In other words, what you give is what you receive. I got plenty of comments and snide remarks from others who saw me as cold and unapproachable – not at all the vibe I “thought” I was giving out.  I can’t tell you how many tears I have cried lamenting my inability to be gracious and accepting.
I remained fearful and closeted for many years because I was unwilling to trust the Divine nature of this experience. It didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen. Surrendering complete and absolute control over my life, I found I was suddenly and overwhelmingly blessed with so many acts of pure loving generosity. Opening to the fullness of living Authentically, I find myself continually rewarded and surprised by the many blessings which have transformed my life.
I no longer cling to the fringes and now welcome the chance to interact spontaneously with my surroundings. I no longer hide who and what I am – instead I choose to live openly as a conduit to the Divine and surround myself with like-minded individuals who have also chosen to reach out and connect. This interconnectedness helps each of us to reach ever-dazzling heights.
My life is no longer black and white, with shades of gray. I’m living it in full-color, surrounded by love. I let go of FEAR as an everyday companion and replaced it instead with a sense of PURPOSE and an overwhelming desire to be a part of that which I once shunned. I am fully supported and buoyed by LOVE all around me, all the time.
The garden of my heart is beautiful, with flowers of all shapes, colors and scents. Their intoxicating beauty reminds me of what I am here to do – to serve in LOVE. Yes, occasionally, there is a stray weed which catches my attention.  Before surrendering it to Mother Earth, I gently pluck it out, thank it for the lesson it has opened my eyes to and then allow it to be transformed and its energies dispersed along the high winds.
With age comes a measure of wisdom. I accept who I am and understand I will continue to grow and change throughout the seasons of my life.  My beautiful heart center is now fully open and remains vibrant because I consciously emit what it is I want to attract – beautiful souls and pleasant energies.  I know and recognize the shared compassion and LOVE that radiates from saying the simple words “thank you”.  I welcome gifts my family and friends choose to share with me on this day. Most importantly, I appreciate the chance to experience the LOVE they are gifting from their hearts.
New Affirmation:  I AM SURROUNDED BY LOVE AND I GROW IN ITS WARMTH.
Remember, it’s always about LOVE!
