What news is the wind bringing you?

My guides asked me to share this short story with you...

The landscape is surreal, like standing on the edge of an abyss.  Walking along the shoreline, I notice the water is dark and lifeless.

“Don’t be fooled.” Grandmother’s eyes connect with mine and I am unable to turn away.  “You are here to witness.”

At my feet, a female turtle shuffles along in the sand on the way to laying her eggs.  Our eyes meet. I’m self-conscious now.  Especially when I don’t see any signs of life other than Grandmother, Turtle and myself.

“I will not waste time. Guard and protect.” I hear the words telepathically. I feel a sudden heaviness in my head and realize Grandmother is still “speaking” to me.  Like a laser, she records her words and thoughts. I have no idea how much times passes before she drops her gaze and lets me go. I have to work at calming the buzzing in my head. Slightly dizzy and overloaded, it takes a minute to steady myself.

“Knowledge comes when needed,” she replies cryptically.  There is tenderness in her speech, but it’s almost as if speaking to herself. She continues slowly walking along the shoreline.

I turn to watch as Turtle covers her children with grains of sand. Tucking them in protectively to await their futures. The tide moves ever closer, the edge of the water lapping up to kiss the sand.

“Many will not live.” A solitary tear runs down her cheek, glistening in the starlight.

At that moment, I realize she’s grieving for possibilities that won’t be realized. I start to cry.

 “There are many outcomes in your world. Many outcomes. Many possibilities. Learn to listen. When you listen, you will hear many important things.” As she speaks, Grandmother stares out into the blackened sky.  “The wind brings many echoes. Pay attention.”

“Yes,” I start to say, when she raises a hand to silence me.

She turns and begins to walk in the opposite direction “I have given you what I can. You must follow the wind.” 

I stop to clear away the tears pouring down my face. When I look up, she’s gone, her footsteps mere echoes on an ancient surface.

So let me ask you, what are you waiting to hear on the wind?  Are you paying attention to the messages which are being sent to you? Do you even take time to notice the small things that happen around which, in and of themselves, won't directly affect you, but may have longer-term consequences.

Sometimes messages come and we cast them aside, because we're not willing to say "Yes" and open the door to a new future. Letting fear and ego keep you from reaching your ultimate goals is like akin to allowing your unrealized potential and probabilities to be washed away by the ever encroaching sea.

Action Time is NOW!

Some time ago, I shared a dream about seven sisters who came to Earth to enrich my soul, transform my life; accelerate my growth and guide me along the path to greater accomplishments. I have been blessed with abundance and blessings over the years and welcome their continuing contributions to my work and life.  Through their encouragement, Truth, Courage, Virtue, Compassion, Wisdom, Gratitude and Forgiveness have asked me to share their gifts with the world.

I know people don’t like it when folks keep revisiting the same territory time and time again, but guess what? That’s exactly where we’re going because my guides believe sometimes repetition is necessary. Fact is, the human brain needs to hear something at least three times before it actually “listens”, makes the connection, and begins to take action.

So listen to this – here is your reminder… action time is NOW! Don’t wait for the moment to be perfect or until all the stars align in heaven. If you’ve got a passion in your heart, what’s holding you back?  If you’ve wanted to learn something new and discover how your life can be profoundly changed for the better, NOW is the time to set things in motion and get moving.  In this moment, you have everything you need to start dreaming, planning and designing your new future.

Maybe you’ve just been holding back. What fears are keeping you from achieving your loftiest goals? Are you aware fear is only self-imposed confinement? The box is only a box – it has walls you can break down any time, but you have to be willing to stretch and take appropriate risk to navigate the barriers. As long as you are willing stay in the box, you can never realize true freedom.

What gifts have you been given that you’re not purposefully using? Maybe you put them on a shelf for later use and forgot about them. It doesn’t matter – it’s never too late to get them out and start embracing and integrating them into your life.

Waking Sleeping Beauty

You’ve done just about everything everyone else wanted of you. Wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, friend, co-worker – no matter, whatever’s been asked, you’ve followed through walking the tightrope of responsibility. 

Between expectations and legacy bequests,  careworn and restless, your needs receded into the background, until one day, the vibrant part of you considered invincible in your 20s, is a stranger – a sleeping beauty hidden away in the 21^st century remake of the Matrix. Think back and remember when life was fun, with no limits, requiring little in the way of responsibility or accountability. You lived to experience. Now you live simply to fulfill what’s expected of you.

On the outside, you’re holding your own and life seems to hum along. At work each day, you take care of other people’s needs, dashing home as the clock winds down to prepare for the expected onslaught from family, friends, or other commitments. 

You wear labels proudly, at home and in the world at large, broadcasting affinities and allegiances to all, even because to be seen is the ultimate badge of honor and being seen is important. If you don’t believe me, take a few minutes tomorrow, look around and take stock of how many others you encounter wearing “the uniform”.  So now, I’ll ask you, what is it that makes you stand out? What is your “X” factor?

And while you may have invested in stocks, bonds and other retirement-worthy instruments, more likely than not, the portfolio’s been dealt a blow between the unprecedented recession and uneven pace of economic recovery. Say a prayer every day for good health and longevity, so it won’t be necessary to depend on social security and Medicaid for old age.  Are you keen to just sit back and hope you retain your health, or are you willing to be proactive and show you can stand on your own two feet?

Every morning, it’s the same routine – up early in front of the mirror preparing to face the day. Before stepping out, maybe some stretching, yoga or Pilates, to work out the kinks, but definitely armed with the latest and greatest in subtle camouflage. Remember, first impressions are important.  Freaking out when you see an unwelcome grey hair or notice a new wrinkle? Instead, welcome the wisdom and dignity of who you are – right here, right now in this moment.

Ever spend some time looking for your sleeping beauty in the mirror? The one that had all the hopes and dreams ahead of her – before she got locked away in the highest turret of the castle – out of sight and out of mind?  That’s what happens to most of us when we reach adulthood.  We put away the hopes and dreams of childhood, tucking them neatly into the aptly-named “hope” chest.  In all the years since, have you ever opened that chest to be reminded of what could be?

Yet, this tiny voice occasionally calls out, easy to ignore as the white noise of the world muffles her cries for attention.  After awhile, she retreats in silence, falling back into her prolonged slumber ‘til something stirs her awake again.  It was probably quite startling the first times she called out, but over time it became easier to ignore her voice – your voice!  So what is it that keeps nudging her from slumber? Your unrequited dreams, of course!

What happened when the prince kissed Sleeping Beauty? Well, for one, she got to live “the happily ever after”.  Do you ever wonder what your happily ever after is?  Is there a dream you locked out in the cold because of expectations? Do you have a plan in place for the 2^nd half of your life? What dreams did you aspire to which you believe are now unattainable? And most importantly, why?

Well, if your fairy godmother were to wave her wand right now, what would you ask her for? How can she help you awaken Sleeping Beauty?

Red Carpet Ready

Been thinking about all the awards shows and how people in the US thrive on watching and participating in the comings and goings of some notables and some not so notable persons in our culture. 

Imagine what a psyche boost it would be if you got to wear some of those fascinating gowns and attend some of the chi-chi parties. On top of the world, at the pinnacle of your career, how fascinating it would be to be so recognized and applauded by your peers and the general public. So, after giving it some thought, I hope you will put aside your rational mind and do this little visualization with me.

Every time you walk out the door, visualize yourself strutting down a red carpet somewhere. Let your imagination go wild and see yourself attending some wonderful opening night party. Flex those creative muscles and give them a workout. Put your own stamp on it, complete with all the bells and whistles - it's your visualization so you get to decide what it looks like.

My vision has me exiting a limo, suddenly surrounded by a thousand flashes of light. I’m wearing the most fab designer gown, a pair of those sky-high Louboutin heels and lots of bling of course!  Back in Texas, that’s what they mean when they say “GO BIG or go home”.

Sometimes you’ve got to believe your own press and just get out there and BE REAL, AUTHENTIC and let your light shine.

You don’t have to be a Hollywood celebrity to strut your stuff. It’s about having the confidence to hold your head high and stand apart from the crowd. Even if you’re not feeling it, take a note from the red carpet photos plastered all over magazines, the internet and cable. How many times have you seen a picture of someone – the next BIG STAR – only you’ve never seen this person or for that matter, heard much of anything about them.

For today, in this moment, I’m asking you to step up and BECOME THE CELEBRITY – the most important person in the Universe. Let the world know you’re ready to step up and be seen! This is where you truly get the focus on you.  When you are truly being AUTHENTIC, you attract others to you who want to be part of your orbit. 

Whether it’s an air of mystery or just an incredible attitude, if you are being authentic in everything you say and do – thought must be followed by action – people will react positively to the confident energy you exude.

Say Yes to Your Future!

Well, we're halfway through the month and there's still a lot work to be done before January gets marked off the calendar. IntuitiveGoddesse.com has been busy helping folks jump-start work towards their 2011 goals. By and large, my client sessions have been productive and I'm looking forward to seeing the results of all the seeds they are planting!

If you haven't gotten around to setting your goals, it’s usually because of fear or procrastination. No matter what your individual circumstances – if you really desire a successful life, the first step only requires changing your thoughts. What's really holding you back is inability to see success in your future. Yes, it’s true – life doesn’t come with an instruction manual, but you’ve already been given the greatest gift and tool anyone could ever ask for – YOUR MIND!  It’s the most powerful tool available to you.  Get to know it and it will be your greatest ally.

Whoosh! Time to take a breath and reframe your thoughts! I’m asking you to say YES TO YOUR FUTURE SELF!  I mean it.  Take in another deep breath and plant the seed – say YES TO YOUR FUTURE SELF!

It’s that simple – say YES!  If it’s easier for you, use this affirmation – I AM ALLOWING MYSELF TO BE OPEN TO ALL POSSIBILITIES. You owe it to yourself to make an investment in YOU and your future.  When you say the affirmation aloud, you should feel the change in your body – especially in your solar plexus area which is the 3^rd chakra. Even if all you feel is a little shift or flutter, this is the first step forward.

Now it’s time to get started on the work necessary to make things happen. As they say, actions speak louder than words.
