The End of the World...?

Welcome to 2013!

For a lot of folks, the holidays were pretty much a blur to commercialism and excess, making it difficult to escape the faux good tidings of cheer every time you entered a store. Coupled with the made up angst stemming from 12/21/12 - it was Y2K all over again with people dreading the darkest night of the year as if it were the signal for the heavens to unleash the Apocalypse!  What I hope you are taking into account right now is the fact that it is difficult to come off the roller coaster called the holiday season and slow down your trajectory enough to resume the day-to-day activities. 

I realize there are folks having difficulty tying up all the loose ends from 2012. But rather than letting life happen, why not take bold action. The world as you knew it is gone. With each passing day, you are being asked and encouraged to evolve – even as everything around may remain in constant flux. Change how you perceive and respond to what’s going on around you.

And for those who make resolutions from year-to-year, and end up ditching them after several weeks, let go of your expectations, focusing instead on how you can go about making each day the best ever. Instead of racking up list after list of failed resolutions, use that energy in a different way and move with momentum instead of just following the pack.  Choose instead a goal to achieve and make a new pact to take action and move forward, even if you’re not completely sure of the end game.

Personally, I’ve been pretty excited about the turn of days. What most folks don’t realize is the Solstice actually signals the coming again of the light – where the frigid and blustery winter days grow incrementally longer. For me, the longer days represent the blossoming of abundances, as my new plants (the actualization of ideas and dreams) begin to poke through the soil and emerge into the sunlight.

Here in Colorado, we’ve been experiencing our fair share of sub-zero days; however, even the Columbine plant outside my front door has begun to leaf out! I’m excited as this is just a portal to the future and what’s awaiting me as spring approaches. The rest of my garden may be frozen rock solid, but this one little patch outside the front door beckons and speaks to me of promises yet to come. I am grateful.

What news is the wind bringing you?

My guides asked me to share this short story with you...

The landscape is surreal, like standing on the edge of an abyss.  Walking along the shoreline, I notice the water is dark and lifeless.

“Don’t be fooled.” Grandmother’s eyes connect with mine and I am unable to turn away.  “You are here to witness.”

At my feet, a female turtle shuffles along in the sand on the way to laying her eggs.  Our eyes meet. I’m self-conscious now.  Especially when I don’t see any signs of life other than Grandmother, Turtle and myself.

“I will not waste time. Guard and protect.” I hear the words telepathically. I feel a sudden heaviness in my head and realize Grandmother is still “speaking” to me.  Like a laser, she records her words and thoughts. I have no idea how much times passes before she drops her gaze and lets me go. I have to work at calming the buzzing in my head. Slightly dizzy and overloaded, it takes a minute to steady myself.

“Knowledge comes when needed,” she replies cryptically.  There is tenderness in her speech, but it’s almost as if speaking to herself. She continues slowly walking along the shoreline.

I turn to watch as Turtle covers her children with grains of sand. Tucking them in protectively to await their futures. The tide moves ever closer, the edge of the water lapping up to kiss the sand.

“Many will not live.” A solitary tear runs down her cheek, glistening in the starlight.

At that moment, I realize she’s grieving for possibilities that won’t be realized. I start to cry.

 “There are many outcomes in your world. Many outcomes. Many possibilities. Learn to listen. When you listen, you will hear many important things.” As she speaks, Grandmother stares out into the blackened sky.  “The wind brings many echoes. Pay attention.”

“Yes,” I start to say, when she raises a hand to silence me.

She turns and begins to walk in the opposite direction “I have given you what I can. You must follow the wind.” 

I stop to clear away the tears pouring down my face. When I look up, she’s gone, her footsteps mere echoes on an ancient surface.

So let me ask you, what are you waiting to hear on the wind?  Are you paying attention to the messages which are being sent to you? Do you even take time to notice the small things that happen around which, in and of themselves, won't directly affect you, but may have longer-term consequences.

Sometimes messages come and we cast them aside, because we're not willing to say "Yes" and open the door to a new future. Letting fear and ego keep you from reaching your ultimate goals is like akin to allowing your unrealized potential and probabilities to be washed away by the ever encroaching sea.

Action Time is NOW!

Some time ago, I shared a dream about seven sisters who came to Earth to enrich my soul, transform my life; accelerate my growth and guide me along the path to greater accomplishments. I have been blessed with abundance and blessings over the years and welcome their continuing contributions to my work and life.  Through their encouragement, Truth, Courage, Virtue, Compassion, Wisdom, Gratitude and Forgiveness have asked me to share their gifts with the world.

I know people don’t like it when folks keep revisiting the same territory time and time again, but guess what? That’s exactly where we’re going because my guides believe sometimes repetition is necessary. Fact is, the human brain needs to hear something at least three times before it actually “listens”, makes the connection, and begins to take action.

So listen to this – here is your reminder… action time is NOW! Don’t wait for the moment to be perfect or until all the stars align in heaven. If you’ve got a passion in your heart, what’s holding you back?  If you’ve wanted to learn something new and discover how your life can be profoundly changed for the better, NOW is the time to set things in motion and get moving.  In this moment, you have everything you need to start dreaming, planning and designing your new future.

Maybe you’ve just been holding back. What fears are keeping you from achieving your loftiest goals? Are you aware fear is only self-imposed confinement? The box is only a box – it has walls you can break down any time, but you have to be willing to stretch and take appropriate risk to navigate the barriers. As long as you are willing stay in the box, you can never realize true freedom.

What gifts have you been given that you’re not purposefully using? Maybe you put them on a shelf for later use and forgot about them. It doesn’t matter – it’s never too late to get them out and start embracing and integrating them into your life.

Soar!

The other day a friend of mine was visited by a dragonfly.  Lightly perched on the crest of her knuckles, it appeared to stare back at her, not moving for an instant, hesitating before launching itself back out into the hot summer’s afternoon. Puzzled and perplexed, she sat there with the widest grin on her face and still hadn’t moved her hand, even after her guest had departed.

“I don’t know what that means, but it must be important,” she exclaimed. “That’s never happened to me… you saw it… it just sat there looking at me… OMG!”

She was right. Her messenger was letting her know that her deepest dreams have begun to stir and it’s time for her to pay attention. As they say, “the winds of change are upon us,” meaning it’s time to sit up and get ready for what’s about to show up. If you’re suddenly inspired by dragonflies, perhaps you should think about getting your “wings” out of mothballs and prepare to take flight.

In light of the three eclipses this past summer, the cosmic pot has been stirred, resulting in lots of changes brewing around us.  Things have been stewing and simmering and now we are once again ready for movement. A deep emotional awakening has taken place and it’s time to dig deep and make decisions which will reverberate in your future. 

Paying attention goes against the grain for most of us, as most people are more interested in seeking instant gratification rather than looking beneath the façade and finding the subtleties in the world around us. Content as you may be to “let sleeping dogs lie”, now is the time to take notice of your own conscious thoughts and self-talk which may have kept you from moving forward. Open and allow yourself to be divinely inspired and guided to fulfill your life’s purpose. 

 

Meditation is a good way to bring focus and clarity to your thoughts and help determine whether or not you’re ready to more fully explore potentials and possibilities.

Got a dream which has been stowed away in the back closet of your mind? The gateway to your dreams has been activated and it is time for those hopes and desires to begin taking shape – moving from thought forms to begin working on transformative steps to create your new reality. Like the dragonfly, you possess the innate ability to soar, weightless above the clouds and higher than you ever thought possible.
